FOCKE-WULF FW 190 V-1 (MOD) SLE-3 1:72
This is a resin and white metal full kit of the Fw 190 Prototype.
Designed in response to a 1937 RLM request for a new fighter to compliment the Bf 109, Kurt Tank's Fw 190 used a radial BMW engine; thereby not competing for engine supply with the Messerschmitt. The Fw 190 V1featured a very elaborate cowling and spinner that streamlined the nose of the aircraft and pushed air over the cylinders and radiator. This was replaced with a BMW designed radiator that allowed for a more simplified cowl and spinner. This kit represents the later modified cowl. The aircraft was first flown on June 1, 1939.
This kit contains resin parts, white metal details and a vac-formed canopy. This is a good kit if you've never tried resin before. And you can own the aircraft that started the legend.
